Departments

Our people are our greatest asset and the reason behind our sustained success. Our Head Office business functions can be split into five main departments: Development, Operations, Information Systems, Sales & Marketing and Business Support Services.

You can find out more about the roles and responsibilities of our various departments and teams using the icons below...

Nurturing Future Talent

Our team of multi-disciplined staff have had a varied path into STEM careers whether it has been through an apprenticeship, university or on the job skills training.

We like to do all we can to encourage young people to take up a STEM career, by providing a range of opportunities to give them a real insight into what their future career may look like.

Work Experience

Coming to the end of secondary school can be intimidating, there is a lot of pressure to choose what happens next and with so many options it’s hard to know which is right.

We offer week long placements for school students to come and experience life at work. You’ll work in a variety of departments getting to know the business, how it operates and the responsibilities and importance of each department. You’ll finish the week in our Engineering team getting hands on experience with one of our Engineers as well as being able to seek advice to help you find the correct career path.

Go4SET

We partner with The Engineering Development Trust (EDT) in hosting industry mentored projects. This involves teams from local schools working on an Engineering project in partnership with the Company. With a dedicated Engineer mentor over the 10 week period participants get to explore the creativity and innovation of an engineering career.

Summer Work Experience

Over the summer we open up opportunities for friends and family of existing ITL employees to come in over the 6 week break to gain experience and earn a wage. In your first year you’ll spend your time with our Production team gaining hands-on experience in a production environment. For individuals returning for another summer you’ll find yourself working in one of our support or science functions, seeing how they help to keep the business running smoothly and in the forefront of our customers minds.

Summer Placements

Each summer we have opportunities for university students who have completed their second year of university to gain experience as part of our Research & Development team, working on real projects in Mechanical, Electronics, Software or Science disciplines.

As well as getting to put what you’ve learnt so far into practice, you’ll also be making yourself stand out to potential future employers, demonstarting a passion for your chosen subject.

Industrial Placement

Taking a ‘Sandwich Year’ after your second year at university is a great way to gain all-important work experience and employability skills that will make you stand out to employers once you have graduated. You will spend an academic year working for us as a full-time member of staff; you will hold a real job with real responsibilities, working alongside talented engineers on exciting projects. You could even bag yourselves a career with us like Jonathan; a Graduate Electronics Engineer. Read his story in our blog.

Graduates

We have exceptional career opportunities for creative, hardworking Graduate Engineers.

Graduates will join an established team of Engineers or Scientists as we strive to design innovative products utilising the latest sensing technology for global customers.

We offer great benefits as well as the opportunity to learn from our talented colleagues all based at our state of the art facilities.

See how our graduates have adapted to working life by reading ‘The Graduate Adventure’ in our blog.

Careers Fairs & Career Talks

Having so many opportunities for young people to get their start in STEM we attend a lot of different events to help promote Engineering and the Company. From university fairs, higher education fairs and even careers talks, find out where you can meet us by checking out our Events page.

Driving growth

Innovative Technology has grown rapidly in recent years and in 2014 was named the 13th fastest growing private company in Britain in The Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100.

While the company has enjoyed unprecedented success, we’re even more excited about our future. Our aim is to be the leading global provider of cash handling technology, specialising in banknote validation and recycling technology, coin payment devices, coupon and ticket printing products and emerging payment technologies.

We have ambitious plans for the future, plans that focus on investing in innovative new technologies, growing our international presence and increasing our market share.

Innovative solutions

Innovative Technology’s reputation is built on bringing breakthrough developments to market ahead of the competition. We are committed to maintaining our dominant position, increasing our product range by investing in our research and development capabilities; one of the main engines of our growth.

At the same time, we have continued to innovate, creating new off-shoot businesses at the Innovative Business Park in Oldham, our purpose built research and development office complex. These businesses will investigate new markets and develop the innovations of the future.

International expansion

We operate in a number of territories through our own offices or in partnership, tailoring our approach to each market. In 2014 we added three more offices to our global structure and extended our network of trading partners. We now have nine offices across five continents and partners in over 20 countries.

Innovative Technology is committed to its global expansion and will continue to establish offices in new regions to provide greater support to customers worldwide.

Existing markets

Our existing markets provide significant opportunities for future growth. We will continue investing in the technology, infrastructure and people required to increase our share of the gaming, amusement, vending, retail and kiosk markets.

Continuous and faster innovation will ensure we maintain our leading position in these markets, broaden our product portfolio and increase our customer base across the globe.
