Innovative’s IT department has been temporarily boosted by a number of pupils who are studying Information Technology related subjects. The students have been working on a number of different projects within the IT department to gain an insight into the practical applications of their studies and obtain real work experience.

Holly King, currently at Oldham College - “I have just completed my first year of IT Hardware and Networking. The opportunity to undertake an internship at Innovative Technology was arranged by the UK Career Academy so I can gain an insight into the practical application of IT Hardware in industry.”

Additional placements in Innovative’s Science & Logistics Departments have also been undertaken by two students from local universities.

Nathan Lewis, currently at The University of Manchester - “I have just finished my second year, studying for an MPhys degree. Over the summer I have been working in the Science Department at Innovative Technology working with the sound waves produced by bank note validators.”

Dayna Paterson Marketing Executive at Innovative Technology said “By giving up their summer holiday the students are gaining vital work experience which will put them a step above other candidates when they finish their studies and seek full-time employment. As well as these student placements the teenage children of various staff members have also been working with us over the summer on the factory shopfloor, earning their first wage and gaining work experience. In total 13 students have worked at ITL over the summer!”

Innovative Technology is currently expanding with the creation of the ‘Innovative Business Park’ on land at their UK Head Office in Oldham.
