SMART Coin System - ICE Launch

Innovative Technology will use ICE 2015 (Stand N1 - 550) to launch their latest ‘state of the art’ coin handling unit, SMART Coin System. A combined bulk coin validator, mixed coin hopper and recycler the SMART Coin System is set to revolutionise coin handling.

The unit validates, discriminates and stores mixed coins, eliminating coin starvation & the need for multiple hoppers. Boasting a market leading coin hopper capacity (1500 x €1) and fully audited efficient refills the SMART Coin System is designed to eliminate coin starvation and significantly reduce operator collection costs.

With a market leading coin pay-out speed of 12 coins per second the SMART Coin System is perfect for the high volume demands of the Gaming and Amusement Industries. The SMART Coin System’s bulk coin feeder reduces operator refill time by around 80%; a typical 25 minute refill is reduced to just 5 minutes, dramatically reducing operator collection costs.

The SMART Coin System eliminates the need for a coin mech and all plumbing required by traditional coin hoppers, allowing simple product integration. Added security is created from locking the coin feeder to the hopper, and new multi-frequency sensing technology allowing for greater fraud detection. Designed for maximum efficiency and validation speed the unit validates, discriminates and stores mixed coins for a huge range of currencies; accepting coins of 18 - 28.5 mm diameter.

The SMART Coin System will be officially launched at ICE 2015 on stand N1 – 550.

Introducing Tom Pennington-Brookfield

Innovative Technology Ltd (ITL), a global provider of cash handling equipment is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Pennington-Brookfield, Financial Director.

Tom joins the business pending the retirement of current FD, Alun Evans.

“Having spent 10 years in accounting practice and 6 years in industry in various different types of business, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work in such an entrepreneurial company that is at the start of its next growth phase. The pace of change since I last saw the business as an auditor in 2006/7 is incredible and looks set to continue with the global footprint expanding and investments being made in new technology. I look forward to leveraging my analytical background and bringing a fresh perspective to all areas of the business.

ITL’s pace of growth and plans for the future originally attracted me to the company as it is fairly unique, and the opportunity to add value while undertaking a key role was intriguing. Since joining ITL in November, Alun (the existing FD) has been a great help in ensuring I am up to speed with the current role and requirements. It seems that Alun has done a great job during his time here at ITL and is leaving behind a large void for me to fill”.

Managing Director Aidan Towey said, “As the newest member of the board, Tom will bring a fresh approach to our global operations. He will not only fulfil his financial duties, but he will also play an active role in a number of projects throughout the business as we work towards our future growth aspirations. I would like to take this opportunity to officially welcome Tom to the ITL team”.

Having celebrated another year of success in 2014, EAG has ensured 2015 is off to a great start for leading cash handling equipment provider Innovative Technology. From their largest ever EAG stand Innovative Technology had their complete state of the art product range on display and launched their subsidiary InnoPrint to the Industry.

InnoPrint’s Development Director, Chris Robinson said, “After nearly two years of robust development, it is great to finally introduce our products to the Amusement Industry. EAG was the perfect platform for our first official outing. It was fantastic to receive such a profound interest in the products that we have worked so hard to develop. As a group ITL is now able to provide a comprehensive range of cash handling solutions; including validators, recyclers and printing products.”

Chris continued, “We received a lot of interest this year in ITL’s SMART Ticket, which was launched at ICE 2014. Although the SMART Ticket is not an InnoPrint product, its success fills me with pride as I played a key role in its development and InnoPrint was conceived partly due to the SMART Ticket.”

The SMART Ticket from Innovative Technology has the ability to both accept and dispense tickets as well as retaining the full cash handling functions of the high volume NV200 banknote validator. The product has been designed to maximize cash efficiency, and dramatically reduces operator collection costs, eliminating the need for a separate ticket printer.

Innovative Technology’s Senior Business Development Manager, Paul Curley said, “With our largest EAG stand to date we had a very successful show. The show is a great way to start the year and a chance to catch up with industry colleagues, customers and friends. With recent changes to ticketing protocol our printing products proved extremely popular but as ever our core validators the NV9 USB+ and NV10 USB attracted a lot of attention. It was great to see so many of our products within machines across the show floor too. A number of UK customers seem to have concerns over the new £5 polymer note due out in 2016. The show was the ideal place to reassure everyone that all of our validators are well equipped to accept polymer notes. A free currency update will be the only necessary change and we will of course provide more information nearer the time on our website.”

Anyone who did not see Innovative Technology at EAG, will be able to see them at ICE, 3rd-5th February stand N1-550, which will be manned by staff from their European offices.

Highlights on the stand will include the market leading compact note recycler, the NV11 and the next generation banknote validator, the NV9 USB+, alongside other products from our cash handling range. In addition this year, we will be announcing our subsidiary company, InnoPrint, whose mission is to produce low cost alternative printing solutions. Paul continued, “We will have our biggest ever stand at EAG in 2015; over 85m², allowing us to display our whole product range. This larger stand will enable us to communicate with all of our customers and thank them for their continued custom and support, as well as discussing how we can work together in the future. The coming year signifies another step forward for Innovative Technology as we release another new ground-breaking coin handling product, reiterating that innovation is at the heart of everything we do; producing tomorrow’s products, today”.

Opportunity knocks

2014 has been a great year for ITL. As well as winning industry awards, releasing new products and opening new office locations, we’ve filled 43 permanent vacancies this year.

It’s great when a company shows its appreciation for hard work and here at ITL we were treated to a catered Christmas lunch in December. Along with other festive activities like Secret Santa, bowling and a night out, staff were definitely ready for the well-deserved 11 day break over Christmas. We’ve returned in 2015 well rested and a few pounds lighter (in the wallet, not the waist) ready to do it all over again.

Planning is currently underway for recruitment in 2015, with student opportunities and 8 graduate positions to be filled this year we are pleased to be able to continue to help students gain valuable work experience and graduates take the first step onto their career ladder.
We also have some exciting new opportunities across the rest of the business; with roles in R&D, Manufacturing and Customer Support across our sites in Oldham and Milton Keynes, 2015 is looking to be just as busy and rewarding as 2014.

If you’re looking for a new career this year then take a look at all our current opportunities including all graduate/student opportunities for 2015 http://www.innovative-technology.co.uk/careers/

Recruitment Tip for Grads:
Gain as much work experience as you can. As well as a big 6 week holiday in the summer, the school term is littered with half term and end of term breaks. Take these opportunities to spend time in relevant companies; a candidate who has spent their spare time furthering themselves and their knowledge of a chosen subject will really stand out to a hiring manager, which will work in your favour when it comes to applying for graduate roles.
