Innovative Technology Ltd. (ITL) are pleased to announce independent approval from the European Central Bank (ECB) for their note validator (NV) range. The ECB authenticate validators that successfully recognise the difference between genuine and counterfeit Euro banknotes. ITL’s NV9 USB+, NV10 USB+, NV200, NV200 Spectral and the new NV9 Spectral all received a 100% pass rate during testing last month at De Nederlandsche Bank in Amsterdam.

James Beswick, Lead Support Engineer commented on the results, “We are proud to have passed the ECB’s strict testing process again this year. The results independently acknowledge the reliability of our note validator range for their ability to identify genuine Euro notes and reject counterfeits. This was the first ECB test for our newest validator the NV9 Spectral so it’s great to get a 100% pass. Across our whole product range we are constantly developing our global currency dataset files to ensure we maintain our leading acceptance rates, adding new issue notes and known frauds.”

The test results are published to help manufactures choose the counterfeit detection equipment most suitable for their needs. The full listing of the test results can be found on the ECB’s website here.

NV200 Spectral goes down a storm in Oz

Innovative Technology (Asia Pacific) Pty Ltd reported a successful show at the Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE) which took place last week in Sydney. The NV200 Spectral - the most technically advanced note validator in its class – impressed the AGE visitors with its enhanced security features including stained note detection and optical & mechanical anti-strimming technology.

Commenting on the show, Kerry Cowan, Sales Director - Asia Pacific, said, “Four years after the formation of Innovative Technology Asia Pacific, business in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region is now significant so our presence at AGE is something of a landmark for us. It was the first time we have exhibited at the show and we are delighted that it was a real success for us.  Our major focus at the show was obviously Australia and New Zealand but because our banknote validators accept multiple currencies, we are also seeing growth and uptake of our products in the other APAC regions.”

Marcus Tiedt, Sales Director for Gaming, Amusement & Vending also attended said, “We welcomed many visitors to the stand, not just from the gaming industry but from the amusement, retail and vending industries as well so we pretty much covered the whole product range. The NV200 Spectral seemed to attract the most interest.  It uses Spectral technology to capture 100% note image - highest spectral coverage for unrivalled genuine note detection and has a fast note to note processing time.”

Kerry continued, “AGE reported a growing number of amusement suppliers with some companies now offering ‘turnkey solutions’ for clubs, installing arcades and family entertainment centres.  This provides a good opportunity for our BV50 in the region.   The BV50 note acceptor is designed specifically for 66mm width banknotes, with the option of up or down stacking and four cash box capacities it is ideal for the amusement industry.  The SMART Coin System (SCS), a state-of-the-art bulk coin validator, mixed coin hopper and recycler in one and SMART Hopper (multi-coin hopper and recycler) also caught the attention from organisations providing changer and redemption terminals to eliminate coin starvation and maximise cash efficiency.”

Innovative also had the Nova Green NV200 banknote validator on the stand. This is available for slot machines in Australia through their partnership with ecash and is approved for gaming in Australia. It boasts exceptional note handling of notes up to 85mm wide and has a secure, removeable cash box that can hold up to 1000 notes, making it is ideal for global high-volume applications.

Kerry concluded, “We are delighted with the feedback from AGE and look forward to following up with all the queries we received. Australian clubs and pubs seem to be noticing the value of add-on capabilities of the amusement sector, so we look forward to expanding our reach even further in the region over the coming years in this sector.”
