Innovative Technology Ltd (ITL) will be joining industry professionals next month at EuroCIS - the Leading Trade Fair for Retail Technology. ITL will have their innovative range of retail cash handling products on display on stand #9A17 at the event which takes place in Düsseldorf, Germany from 19– 21 February 2019. ITL will be showcasing their full retail product range including some new products that are set to revolutionise the industry.

Thorsten Labusch, VP of Sales & Business Development (RKB) for ITL commented, “Following the success of last year’s show we are delighted to again have a strong presence at EuroCIS 2019. We are particularly excited to be showing some new innovative products to this growing market.  Our new Spectral BNF (Bunch Note Feeder) has an impressive 2200 cashbox and a large deposit capacity with the ability to present 100+ notes at once.  This highly reliable product combined with fast acceptance speeds of less than 2 seconds across multiple currencies, make it particularly attractive for retailers. The BNF uses the NV200 Spectral validator so the highest level of security is ensured because of its high-resolution imaging which authenticates the validity of notes.”

Thorsten continued, “The BNF when combined with ITL’s Safe Interface makes it ideal for smart safe customers wanting to improve their back-office operations. The combined unit allows customers to gain access to the validator head (and BNF) while the cash is securely stored inside the smart safe.  This gives an enhanced level of security and provides ease of access for maintenance for smart safe and deposit applications.”

ITL will also be showcasing their Twin SMART Coin System. The Twin is a state of the art true multi coin recycler that doubles both the coin capacity (up to EUR 2800 based on evenly mixed denominations) and the speed (up to 24 coins per second) compared to their established SMART Coin System.  It is designed specifically to meet the needs of the high-volume retail market as it combines a bulk coin feeder & validator with two mixed coin hoppers & recyclers in one single unit, eliminating the need for multiple coin payout devices.

Thorsten concluded, “We are also keen to show ICU; our brand-new age verification device which automates the policy for controlling access to age restricted purchases and premises. Using intelligent biometric algorithms; ICU verifies age for the purchase of restricted products making it ideal for retailers. We have also ensured that the device uses the latest 3D anti-fraud system to prevent spoofing attacks.  Safe Cash Collect will also be available on the stand for our visitors to demo. The unit combines a secure tamper evident cash bag system with live data and reporting software and is ideal for the convenience store market. EuroCIS attracts such many visitors from around the world and provides the perfect opportunity to showcase our innovative cash handling products for retail and self-serve applications. Come and see the ITL team on stand 9A17 to find out more.”

Innovative Technology reported a successful show at NRF - Retail’s Big Show, last week at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. Their new Spectral Bunch Note Feeder (BNF), Safe Interface, SMART Coin System plus ICU;  age recognition device, all went down a storm with the visitors in The States.

Rebecca White, VP Sales & Business Development commented, “This year we took our largest ever dedicated booth at NRF and it gave us the opportunity to network with some of the largest retail organizations and OEMs from across the globe.   We had a significant number of international visitors all wanting to know more about our next generation retail and smart safe products.”

Innovative Technology Ltd (ITL) are proud to announce that the NV200 Spectral has once again received independent validation from the Central Bank of Russia (CBR).  The CBR grants approval to validators that can successfully recognise the difference between genuine and counterfeit banknotes. The unit passed the test with flying colours and was able to find all required security features, correctly identify them, and reject all manipulated notes.

Georgiy Frolov, Business Development Manager for Russia, commented on the success, “We are obviously delighted with the outcome as the CBR test is notoriously stringent, so we were very pleased to hear the news that we passed at the end of 2018. The Russian Bank test proves the high level of performance which the NV200 Spectral has and gives the unit independent credibility. The unit received CBR endorsement when it was first launched in 2016 but since then two new denominations (which have a completely different structure), have been introduced - making it even more challenging. Passing the 2018 test is a testament to the hard work of the team at ITL who made this possible.”

The NV200 Spectral is a highly secure and technologically advanced banknote validator. State of the art spectral sensors offer complete note image capture (highest spectral coverage) to authenticate the validity of notes. The unit boasts 99%+ first time acceptance of new and street grade notes with a note to note processing time of 2 seconds.

The unit contains several security features including optical and mechanical anti-strimming technology that delivers outstanding fraud protection. The NV200 Spectral’s cutting-edge note centring mechanism, together with 4-way barcode acceptance bring the user exceptional note handling and increased ticket acceptance rates.

Georgiy concluded, “Passing the CBR test means that we can keep growing our business in Russia and the surrounding former CIS countries which are key areas of growth for us.  This Russian Bank approval confirms to our customers that the NV200 Spectral really is the most technically advanced note validator in its class; we look forward to seeing an increase in interest over the coming years in the region.”

Today Innovative Technology the leading provider of cash handling technology, has announced a brand-new innovation, ICU; a state-of-the-art age verification device that automates the policy for controlling access to age restricted purchases and premises. Using intelligent biometric algorithms; ICU verifies age for the purchase of restricted products such as alcohol or over 18 premises such as Adult Gaming Centres.

Commenting on the new ICU, Tony Morrison, Sales Director - Retail & Kiosk said, “We are delighted to bring this exciting new product to both the retail and gaming markets where we are already well-known and trusted.  We have used our expertise and some of the technology from our well-established cash handling products and applied this to create an automated age recognition device which uses intelligent biometrics. Automation is key; with retail self-service check-outs a key application where both customers and retailers can benefit from automating the age verification process for restricted purchases, speeding up purchases for customers rather than having to wait for an assistant to approve. ICU is a standalone unit, there is no need for customers to pre-register, providing a seamless service for the end user.”

Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) applied in Biometrics is being widely used in computer science as a form of identification and access control. The camera in ITL’s ICU captures an image of the customer and uses biometric identification to recognise and verify age. It does not store any images or personal data so there are no implications for GDPR and no privacy concerns for the operator. ITL acknowledge that age restrictions for different products and premises vary from country to country. This global product can be easily tailored to meet the age restrictions and specific regulations of any country.

Tony continued, “As with all our products, security is high on the agenda. We have ensured that ICU uses the latest 3D anti-fraud system to prevent spoofing attacks. The 3D system allows the unit to distinguish been a picture and the real person’s face, providing reassurance to our customers and preventing spoof attacks. ICU has been on trial for some time now in various applications with excellent results and we know the market will be impressed.”

Expanding on the benefits, Dr. Daniel Lonsdale, ICU Product Manager said, “The data science behind reading and verifying banknotes is highly applicable to automating the age verification process, so we’ve got our 26-year history behind us. There are many benefits to the operator, but the main aim is to improve the customer experience by speeding up the age verification approval process. This in turn will result in increased throughput and revenue as customers move through the purchase process at a faster rate. Implementing ICU frees up staff time, reducing the staff levels required for either age-restricted purchase approvals or stopping entry to age-restricted premises. Lowest cost of ownership is ensured as the software required is included in this standalone unit and there are no 3rd party fees or ongoing costs. No expensive hardware is needed, and integration is simple as the device can mounted horizontally or vertically.”

Daniel concluded, “A.I. is changing our lives in so many ways these days, from note validation technology to our mobile phones, so it is with great excitement that we bring this new revolutionary product to the market to automate the age verification process. Many times, I have waited for (human) authorisation at the checkout for age restricted products, whereas today with ICU, we can know immediately whether a person needs to present ID or not. For the customer, this brings a better experience, for the operator, more income and lower costs, and for the integrator, a considerable product differentiator. It’s win-win-win, and we look forward to working with those who want to adopt this technology. We will be previewing ICU at both NRF in New York and EAG in London in January 2019 and we look forward to the visitor reaction and feedback.”
